Our Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
We are a self-governing, conservative baptist church believing in the fundamentals of the Christian faith and biblical worship.
Before the worship service, at 10:00 a.m., there are two adult Sunday school classes you may choose from to attend. These classes are smaller group settings where you are invited to meet people, enjoy perhaps some coffee and donuts, and hear a Bible-teaching lesson more directly applicable to your life-stage. The best way to get to know people at Open Door Bible Baptist Church is to visit one of these adult Bible classes. Most adults attend a worship service where they enjoy the beautiful and inspiring music of the choir, pianists, and special music singers. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor David Garnett. The service is a little over one hour in length.
Starting with an excellent nursery, there is something special for every age child. At every service there is a safe, clean, and highly staffed nursery for children two years old and under. For the children in the nursery, mothers will receive a pager so that the nursery attendants can easily contact you if there is a need. For children three years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.
Our church building has a lot of rooms, which to a guest can seem overwhelming at first. It's not as complicated as it looks and we would like to help you find the nursery and the appropriate classes and services for every person in your family. Our greeters and ushers are located around the building as well as in the lobby of the sanctuary and will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place if desired.
The teens in the church go to the Open Door Youth Group where they will participate in fun games, join along in the singing, and listen to a Bible lesson directed to their age.
There is not a dress code at Open Door Bible Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Open Door!
Dr. David Garnett has been the senior Pastor of Open Door Bible Baptist Church since 1990. He is also the president of Open Door’s Bible Institute, which is a ministry of Open Door Bible Baptist Church.
